Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. The university is widely acknowledged for starting the modern science-based study of children's eyewitness memory and child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded multiple grants, and received numerous national and international awards. She has worked with many government agencies and institutions all over the world to conduct research and guidelines pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She serves as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She also is a founding part of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been director of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
